What is an Empty Leg?

As the term suggests, empty legs are flights that are scheduled to fly without any passengers. These operate when an aircraft needs to reposition or return for a charter.

They are sometimes also referred to as dead-heads, repositioning legs, and ferry flights. According to charter-jet companies, 30%-50% of the private jet charter fleet often flies empty.

Given how costly they are to operate, charter companies try to avoid having to fly empty legs in the first place. As a result, they are often not made available until fairly last minute.

Empty Leg Flight:

Can sometimes be up to 75% cheaper than a regular charter flight fare.

It is only one way, so you will have to organize your return flight separately.

If you are prepared to be flexible with your travel plans , an empty leg flight can be a great way of accessing private jet travel, at lower prices.

Could be canceled at any time, whether due to technical issues or the jet is getting booked for another full-priced charter
Our team will send you a weekly update with the available empty legs if you subscribe to empty legs service
